The home itself is stunning, with a unique view of Mount Fuji. In collaboration with the architect Kengo Kuma who designed the infrastructures, this place interprets elements of traditional Japanese houses using modern technics revealing a savage and preserved nature. The landscape made of stones and water is placed at the heart of this project and simply embellished by essential shapes and materials. The team-up of Christian Liaigre and Kengo Kuma had great results. This home, designed by Christian Liaigre and Kengo Kuma, takes the traditional elements of Japanese homes and gives them a modern twist.
Both on the inside and the outside, you can see that the essential shapes and materials have been kept, but with a contemporary twist. This makes for a stunning and unique home that is sure to impress anyone who visits. The home decor in this successful interior design project by Christian Liaigre heavily consists of white walls and black-stained woods custom made furniture, which is heavily inspired by Shodo (referring to Japanese calligraphy). By doing this, Liaigre creates a unique combo of black and white that pays homage to Japanese culture. Christian Liaigre's style is defined by its spacious and generous shapes, which are influenced by traditional Japanese culture. By having Kengo Kuma onboard this incredible initiative, the French interior designer proved once again that he is not only a great professional but a very versatile interior decorator.
