Kelly Behun used the 14-foot windows and the sweeping vista of Central Park to design the great room. A hand-knotted Tibetan silk rug from Doris Leslie Blau complements the views of the park. An arched mirror was added to the wall to reflect the decorative tops of the surrounding buildings. Behun's favorite element of the room is the custom ceiling pendant.
Behun's favorite part of the apartment is a cozy glazed alcove off of the dining area. The space features a custom banquette upholstered in mohair fabric, a custom table, and a collection of sculptural chairs. Behun also added a vintage yellow chair and ottoman by Olivier Mourgue to create a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy the views. Behun designed this apartment with a family who loves the city in mind. The space is filled with music and breathtaking views, making it a true oasis in the heart of the city. "It's for someone who loves New York," Behun says of the residence. "This feels like a very 'I love New York' kind of apartment." Whether it's the music or the views, this apartment is the perfect home for a family that is at home in the city.
